It's mixed. We have used windows and SQL users. The sa account and windows account with sa permissions...although the documentation doesn't mention needing sa privileges, but I tried it anyway. The permissions on the DBs seem to be working given the indexing stats, etc it can see, however wmi/perfmon counters seem to be barfing.
