While mucking around with setting up automated reports for monthly WAN interface utilisation Ive noticed that there's a fair discrepancy between what the classic graphs report and what the dynamic graphs report. This is using the Min/Max/Average bits per second graphs and it does this whether is last month or last 7 days. The dynamic graphs report much less utilisation on the average and in the 95th percentile figures. I made sure I was using the same time periods and sample intervals. I would have thought that it would be pulling the data from the same location to make these graphs and using the same calculations. What graph should I be believing? It puts in doubt just whats being reported in Orion. I tend towards the classic graph knowing the history of the WAN utilisation there.
